Changing Cimex Motor

I may have to change out my Cimex motor. Has anybody done this? Is there an after market motor to replace this motor? Thanks for your replies!

Take it to a qualified mechanical electrician for their diagnosis.

As mentioned above, motors can normally be serviced. Look for an electric motor repair shop in your area. In many cases the motor can be round or repaired if it has a problem. Repairing the motor is generally a bargain compared to buying a new one.

The motor is actually fine. It is the shaft and bearing. My brother-in-law who is my mechanic, says at some point the bearing froze up and the shaft continued to spin. Over time the shaft started to wobble, now beginning to wear out the bearing. This took place over 12-18 months, becoming louder and louder. Since a new motor runs $700-$800, he thinks he can take the shaft out, get it straightened out on a lathe, get a new bearing and should be good to go. This should be mush less than a new motor. I'll keep you guys posted!
