In a soak tank by someone trained in the cleaning and care of Oriental rugs.
There are many precautions to be checked prior to dumping into the tank as there are after the rug is removed, that many carpet cleaners would not be aware of, especially with wool.
In a previous life, I cleaned many rugs, even with my faithful Big Yella, soaking urine infested rugs in an appropriate solution of acetic acid back then.
After soaking, agitation, rinsing, rinsing & even some more rinsing, they were extracted & hoisted up onto my tower for assisted drying.
Some were even dried flat, some also upside down.
Then they were groomed, inspected, wrapped and delivered.
Last year I sold all of my gear off so I can't clean rugs anymore.
That's my excuse & I'm sticking to it.
Do you know how heavy a 10' x 8' wool rug weighs when soaking wet?????
Pretty heavy for an elder person.
I don't regret my past, I just regret the times I've wasted with the wrong people.
Take me as I am, or watch me as I go.
I'll retire when I can no longer do what I love, or I no longer love what I can do.
Stop moving, start dying........
