Or you can toss them into a bucket and keep them damp. It's easier to wash them if you don't let them dry out.

And if you're using microfiber bonnets, we've discovered that you can get them generally clean enough by simply rinsing them out. The microfiber releases the soil easily, so rinsing them out by hand is normally sufficient to refresh them for continued cleaning. We find that laundering them in a washing machine can start to compromise the structure of microfiber bonnets which contributes to premature wear.
