I ground mine down. Just a little though....holds the pads well enough and very easy to take off....I had a couple of extra drivers so I split one apart...Washed the old glue off, dried it up real nice and got some industrial Velcro...used gorilla glue....That didn't work for me though. Velcro came right off...I would grind the nubs down little by little until the pads are easier to take off.
