I really don't think it's confined to this forum.
I look at 1 or 2 in the U.K, plus the Aussie one, and about 6 in the 'states.
All of them are under-performing compared to this time last year.
Some have been "upgraded" and one in particular appears to have a LOT LESS participation that it previously did prior to their "upgrade".
Who really knows why people are not responding as much.
Maybe people are not out there making enough bread, which could make them a tad depressed and they don't feel like communicating as much.?
Some may be too busy & simply don't have the time nor inclination to post.
Others may have just decided to give the forums a rest for a while.
Others may not be comfortable with the new look forums, and DO have some trouble navigating them, hence they tend not to post as much anymore.
Many are merely "observers" that don't want to post, some maybe for fear of being ridiculed, others because they don't want their opposition knowing how they do things.
Me, I don't really care, I know I post some stupid stuff and ask dumb questions, and now, I don't really care what my opposition say's or does anymore.
(I have to keep asking, because I keep forgetting the answers).
Personally, I'd love to see much more open communication where we can all help each other.
Yesterday one of my opposition borrowed a piece of equipment so he could clean some carpet on a boat, the gear he had was just too big.
We also recommend each other for work if one of us is too busy, or not going in the direction of the job at the time.
We don't undercut each other and this system has worked well for a couple of decades.
As the song said, "What we need is a great big melting pot".
