Use dry with renovators to remove deep-down dirt, separate and raise the fibers, and get the carpet ready for pre-vac. Use without renovators to scrub the carpet after vac, pre-spray and spot treatment. Follow up with pad-capping to absorb any soluble soils released through agitation and chemistry.
