There are two separate primary methods of cleaning that are being considered here. Encap shampooing, and bonnet cleaning. Encap-shampooing = Scrubbing. Padding/Bonneting = Absorption. It's important to differentiate between the two, because different pads/bonnets are used for each application.
FiberPlus pads are used for encap shampooing. These pads are ideal for agitating the fiber and creating a light foam. They have a perfect level of agitation to the fiber for effective carpet scrubbing. They're used for scrubbing, but not really for absorption.
Bonnets (such as the MicroBeast and Superzorb bonnets) are used for absorption cleaning. Bonnets absorb the soil into them. Some guys will go back over the carpet with a bonnet following encap shampooing. And that's where the term "post padding" or "post bonneting comes from.
The term "Pad Capping" is generally thought of as bonnet cleaning using an encap detergent. Some cleaners will also refer to "post padding" as "pad capping".
Keep in mind that these are expressions that were thought up by carpet cleaners to describe what they are doing. So sometimes there may be differing opinions - it's not like you can find this info on Wikipedia. Wink
