I'm wondering if there may be some extenuating factors that caused the carpet to resoil more rapidly than normal (inclement weather, resealing asphalt in the parking lot, heavier than normal traffic, poor vacuuming, etc). It's hard to fathom that recycled carpet would perform worse than traditional carpet. Not to say it's not possible - it just seems weird.
