Do i need a HWE Machine?
#1
I have started using a rotary recently and have started to sell of my hwe machines as I am not using them as much. Should I keep one for stain removal or do you think it is possible to use rotarys only. I am interested to find out how many encap carpet cleaners feel the need to carry a hwe machine and when they choose to use it.

Thanks
James

I think the wise choice would be to keep an extractor. You never know when it may be just what you need. You may be called to extract vomit, urine, etc. You may need to give a hammered carpet a good flushing. And providing a periodic HWE rinse is an effective maintenance strategy that can help you manage the carpet's soil load effectively. While it's true that encap can cover a ton of ground, there are times that HWE is still very valuable to have at your disposal. It can be compared to having plenty of tools in a well stocked toolbox. Having a wide range of tools and being proficient at using them marks a true professional.

I agree with Rick. I also have a small machine for touch up and spotting.

I also agree with Rick re keeping a HWE.

Although I'm down-sizing and looking forward to S.R. I'm still purchasing some new items & also keeping some old items purely for the reasons given above.

This will be my main arsenal of HWE equipment.

I also am arranging for a new Evolution wand, but this will be modified to be 6" shorter than the normal wand.

I will still be running mainly encap; gear though, for the new areas I will be promoting entry into.

Cool
