New cord? Kodiak or HD special
#1
Maybe Rod or Rick can answer this question.

I want to put a new, longer and thicker cord on the Cimex. I am thinking of going with a 12 or 10 gauge 75 foot cord from home depot. Any drawbacks?

Or should I get a the Kodiak cord and keep a 50' 10 gauge extension cord on the van. Some times 50' doesn't cut it (with cubicles, broken outlets or hidden outlets).

Any thoughts?

We don't recommend anything longer than 50 ft cords for the Cimex due to the fact that it will create more current draw and that creates more heat in the motor which can over a period of time cause premature failure of the motor.... having said that.... there are times when 50 ft will just not work as you mentioned. In that case if you put a 50 ft 10-12 gauge cord on your machine and use a short heavy duty 10-12 gauge extension cord you should be ok and Use the extension only when you need it.
