Best way to treat browing?
#1
Can anyone tell me what is the best way to treat browning in carpets. Should the carpet be sprayed with an acidic encap then hot water extracted or bonneted or just left to dry?

Also as hydrox is not recommended for wool carpets how do I go about treating wool carpets for browning?

thanks

Encap-HydrOx is amazing on browning!!!

Caution with wool; it's been reported that hydrogen peroxide can damage wool fiber.

If you are cleaning wool and you're facing "browning", you could use an acid base.
Something like a urine treatment that's approved for wool should do the trick.

Thanks for your advice. should it be bonneted or extracted? Also will thre be any visible damage of using hydrox on wool? Thanks

Bonneting or shampooing can accomplish anti-browning; watch for distortion though. Extraction will produce less fuzzing. And I don't think you'll be able see damage that HydrOx allegedly produces on wool. But it's always best to err on the side of caution. Smile
