Thanks Rick I think it is my browser I'll try a different one nothing came up when I did that.

Yes it was my browser for some reason Fire Fox for my Mac does not like certain things the past few days

for me on this forum, when i try to use any of the links to Bold / Underline / Link / Image, it never works when i use my Firefox browser.

but with IE9 it works perfectly

You're right. Seems to be some kind of weirdness going on in Firefox.
In Chrome - selecting B for BOLD text works fine. Works in Safari and IE too.
Must be a Firefox specific issue.

I concur Firefox does have issues with the commands.
