Cimex Wheel Base
#1
If I get a 19" Cimex will it fit on a 12.5" wide ramp?

No, 12.5" is too narrow.

Should have at least 20" (marginal).
And 24" width is ideal (optimal).

Here are a couple of very nice aluminum ramp options...
  • Lightweight
  • Professional looking
  • Superior tread grip
For 1/2 ton vans, mini-vans, and trailers:

For 3/4 ton and 1 ton vans:

Just measured. Don't go with anything less than 20". Even that's cutting it really close. You really should have 24".

I was looking at a nice pre owned Cimex on ebay today but I hesitated and missed out so I'll wait on buying a ramp till I find another machine.

I need a quality ramp badly- do not even attempt to lug your Cimex out of your van without a ramp-
it is both too heavy and awkward - ramping in and out is the way to save your back-

I have a HWE Hoss scrubber and it is easy enough to schlep in and out, but ramping is best-

I'm going to get one and it should be sooner than latter. My 90lb rotary is more than I like to lift out of the van.

Rick sells a pretty nice ramp you can use for your equipment.

i have been looking for some sort of jack, the ramp will not work for me because the van is loaded i almost need to lift the cimex straight up and the push back into the van... i know there has to be something out there that has a square base of about 2 x 2 that i can set the cimex on and jack it up to the height of the van then push back two feet

If you've got a2x2 space for the lift, why don't you have space for a fold up ramp?

The folding ramp basically folds down to nothing. Minimal footprint! When folded it's roughly 40" tall by 24" wide and about 9" thick.

I posted this a few weeks back...

Might help. Maybe build a cradle for your Cimex
Electric hoist on it would be cool too

I, however would look into Rick's folding ramp. They fit easily behind the seats. My dad had a van that he built an elevated (4") floor in. Ramp (and mop handles, doodlebug etc.. ) slid underneath everything

no room for that FloorCareMD... its kinda hard to enplane..maybe a ramp would work but you would pretty much have to push it in and stead of pulling it in... because if you pull it in whit the hose reels from the truck mount you would have blocked your self in and would have to crawl over the truck mount unit to the front seat... doable but not good... /// this is not mine but it gives you some kind of a idea of what i mean

I will be in the same boat, push it in.

Rick, How much do the larger wheels help when it comes to loading? Where are they most beneficial?

The larger wheels make it easier to roll everywhere, including going up a ramp.
