Wondering how to clean carpet, my first time cleaning.
#1
I have an opportunity to clean commercial carpet in office setting. I don't know how its been cleaned before or when the last time it was cleaned but it do need cleaning. I have a portable hot water extractor and a cimex machine. What would be the best way to handle this job and make a great first impression?

Depending on how trashed the carpet is, I would pre spray with Releasit Punch and then clean it with Releasit DS2 using the Cimex and Fiber Plus pads. I usually leave my extractor in the shop. Smile

Ageed. It would be a mistake to use the porty on commercial carpet if you have a cimex on hand. Order the chemicals blue ridge recommended (This is crucial. Dont try and use the cimex alone without encap chemicals). Excellent supply gets them to you pretty quickly, hopefully before your job.

What Blue Ridge said would be exactly what Id do. Remember to give it real thorough pre vac with a good vacuum cleaner.

Yes, the Cimex is a scrubbing workhorse and combined with DS2 at 4 oz per gallon you will get great foaming action and cleaning power, and you can leave leave the portable in the shed for now.

Actually, I'd take the porty along. The Cimex and Excellent Supply encap solution will take care of almost everything but there may be need for wanding along baseboards and in corners or places the Cimex won't fit.

It is rare we need to use a portable, but when you need to use it not having it in the arsenal can prove to be embarrassing

There many simple ways to clean your carpet. One of the most simple way is to steam clean it. It only requires a steam vacuum cleaner and nothing else. If your indoor carpets has pet stains on it, then you should search for product like (back link removed by admin) Best Pet Stain cleaners for indoor carpets. There are many products which says that they can remove pet stains but the results are quite below the mark.

Since you do not know when the last time the carpet was cleaned let alone the method. Bring your portable and cimex--- Drop or prespray punch, rinse w/ punch then can go back over with cimex/green stripe pads/DS or not...
Your first cleaning should be the most thorough for a few reasons. Most notably, your subsequent cleanings will be easier, your new client will definitely get their money's worth and hopefully be impressed, you can use the cimex by itself and you can and should charge more for the first cleaning.

You do need to explain that why your first service is going to cost more than the next, unless it is going to be anywhere past 8-10 months before the next.

Increased frequency in service will allow you to charge less per service but that increase in frequency will net you more revenue.
Doing the easiest isn't necessarily the right choice.

I'm new in the field. Vario for carpet cleaning, cimex for commercial .my concept is
-no truckmount
-no porty
-green all natural
however I'm still looking for the best recipe( good smell with lavender and peppermint)
I will be happy to have your opinion and help

Cimex for commercial. Vario for residential and/or commercial. Excellent choices. The Vario can cover a lot.

Green product: Releasit Bio-Encap is one of the best out there. If you'd like a lavender or peppermint scent, a few drops of essential oil could be added.

I started off with Bio-encap but Hydrox is much better for cleaning residential. and I still market myself as green because of how safe the Releaseit products are. Its been so long since I've used the Bio and have 3 gallons of it left so I've been meaning to go back and compare Bio vs Hydrox again.

Maybe Rick can give some input on the difference in performance between the two.

thank for your advices, however I still have a doubt(fear): somebody told me that I need a porty for HWE, because customers like that kind of machine.

I have a 8 gallon portable as well as a 3 gallon portable spotter. at the least, having the spotter is handy because some things need some extraction. for example, one of my customers had a place in front of the washing machine where they had spilled detergent and it was attracting dirt. extracting it was best to make sure I got it out. also, on occasion I've had to use something heavier to get out deep urine stains and odor and the heavy stuff requires extraction.
