I'm a tad embarrassed here.
I've had my CRB for several years now & not once used it on dry carpet to pull out what several guys have said.
I have a Hako Wizzard, a cheaper Chinese (?) knock-off.

It has served me well for what I bought it for, cleaning Flotex.
Only problem I have found is the hopper is quiet small and wet solids get caught on top of the rubberized roller where it sits against the hopper.
This necessitates cleaning off every time the hopper is emptied.
I guess the only way I'll find out if it does a good job on dry carpet is to try it.
Unless someone else has a similar one and can tell me

I don't regret my past, I just regret the time I've wasted with the wrong people.
Take me as I am, or watch me as I go.
I'll retire when I can no longer do what I love, or no longer love what I do.
Stop moving, start dying........
