  Another uph ?
Posted by: mark63 - 06-21-2014, 04:18 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

I was wondering if cleaning upholstery with hydrox and agitation (encap) followed right after with hot water extraction (my portable) would do a better job, or would it interfere with the encapsulation process.

I was wondering if I can encap a microfiber couch and if so what product would I use and what method of cleaning?

Anyone use the Sebo CRB, and if so whats your opinion of it. Thinking of using one for agitation prior to HWE. Just wondering how well it would work and hold up in the long run.

Looking for input to startup on a budget.
Posted by: Stoneface - 06-18-2014, 12:29 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (14)

I graduated college a few years ago and am living with my dad, making $9.50 an hour at the only place that would hire me. I have no idea why. I have a friend that referred me to this board and said you can make pretty good money and it's possible to startup on the cheap with $1500. It will take some doing, but I can save $1500.

Being completely naïve to the industry and with nothing more than a willingness to work hard, I'm looking for some input on a to-do or must-have list from any veterans who would be willing. If you could give me brand names, sources to buy from and estimated pricing, too, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot, everyone!

  Office off of Shop,
Posted by: cleanerguy - 06-17-2014, 12:33 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

I've been in this business for years.
I have been doing this office for many years, commercial carpet squares which are olefin.
If you attempt to clean them with a TM your screwing yourself and will look bad to everyone in the offices, because it simply does not respond well at all.

Cimexing it for years and with products such as DS2, BridgePoint, Cimex USA. they all work well.
Now there are a few offices were the plant supervisors are in and out all day, so last night I more then tripled the DS2 12oz. to a gallon then used my Tuway pads right after and it looked very good.

Let's see if they notice it, I can't wait to see if they do.

By the way, it will only look clean for about a week.
Thanks for reading.

  New Releasit distributor in California!
Posted by: encapman - 06-16-2014, 04:26 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

Just a heads up - for those of you throughout California, Ray at CMS is now a Releasit distributor in California. He is centrally located and can provide faster shipping of Releasit to customers in California.

We have a lot of Releasit customers in California and we were looking for a better way to serve them (shipping Releasit from Florida takes a few days). I spoke with Ray at MikeFest and it seemed like a great fit for Releasit! Ray has an excellent reputation for taking good care of his customers, and we are very happy to be working with him.

So if you're in Cali and need to order Releasit - please contact CMS - Commercial Maintenance Systems and they will take good care of you! http://carpetms.com/page/category/releasit.html 800-736-5661.

From the CMS home page....

  Anyone try this?
Posted by: FloorCareMD - 06-16-2014, 11:13 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (10)

Has anyone ever tried to buff vct with a microfiber bonnet like a MicroGlide instead of a floor pad on their machine? Might work for those really humpy-bumpy floors that burn with UHS.

  Rediscovered Bio-Encap!
Posted by: CleanItGreen - 06-11-2014, 04:57 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

When I first opened for business I was using Bio-Encap. Its the greenest solution by Releasit and it made for easy marketing. Hey! My solution is EPA certified! But I wasn't getting the results I wanted so I became a Hydrox head. But after seeing Rick mention in a discussion that BE was very similar to DS2 I gave it another try. After all I've had 3 jugs sitting unused for a long time.

Well, not only is it my go to upholstery cleaner now, I'm using it sometimes for carpet jobs and getting great results. I figured out that 6 oz per gallon does well, and today I used 8oz per gal and was able to get some stains out of Berber with my CRB. I still swear by hydrox but I will save that for jobs with pet stains/odors and extra grungy carpets and I will be using BE often.
