  Question for raising my productivity
Posted by: Bernd - 02-14-2017, 04:09 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (9)

I have a question for the more experienced cleaners:: How can i raise my hourly production rate? Mostly i have commercial customer with some free hallways and mostly furnished offices. I have a helper who vaccums and puts the chairs out of the room and mixes new solutions for me...but i only average 500 - 600 sq/fts per hour! Sometimes more...but infrequent!

Ok. Every carpet and soiling is different but i feel i am definitly to slow! I make one pass with my Orbot spraying down solution and one slower dry pass with a VCT pad. On heavily soiled areas i use a MF or SuperZorb. I got another customer with more than 26000 sq/fts and need to raise my productivity. Does some aditional weight help? If i am using all weight plates, can i go a bit faster? Till now i used max three plates per side? Makes it a big difference when using all plates an CGD? The next days i have to do another 7200 sq/fts of furnished offices and two hallways. Heavily soiled. How long would i take for you to clean?

How is your system and how is your process for maximum productivty? Every advice would be helpful for me! Thanks a lot.

Shorty started talking about his passion for Photography in another thread.
So I've started this thread to continue the discussion in a separate thread...

Personally, I cut my teeth on a Nikon FM2 back in the early 80's.
Currently I've been using a Nikon D90 for product shots.
And I also enjoy working with Fujifilm mirrorless cameras.

Here's a my latest setup for working on product shots. The Nikon that you see is tethered to my iMac. The camera and the shot is fully controlled from the computer. It's the best setup I've come up with for product shots to date. We'll now be in a better position to update and add new product images. Smile

  Monster beer spot...
Posted by: Bernd - 02-09-2017, 05:42 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

I have a meeting with a new customer on monday. It is a little hotel and they want me to safe their carpets.... They have some heavy beer spots in their rooms (typical for Germans...they love drinking beer Big Grin ) . How would you handle them? Thought of using HydrOx and minimal moisture.

What do you think or what would you recommend? HydrOx? Or DS2 with the Spill stain dilution?

  seeking advice on CRB
Posted by: anfsec - 02-03-2017, 10:24 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (4)

Hi again all

As mentioned in my previous post, we have a Duplex 420 as well as a Rotowash CRB.

And I was hoping for advice on the following question.

When encapping, do you use themwith the skimmer on or the skimmer off?

We tried it both way and when we had the skimmer on for the Duplex 420, it picked up quite a bit of the solution and so we were concerned that more of the Releasit was ending up in the waste tray of the machine than on the carpet.

Any suggestions or help or advice will be greatly appreciated

patches and other funny shapes on carpet - post encap
Posted by: anfsec - 02-03-2017, 10:19 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (4)

I have regularly used our Duplex 420 to clean carpets in the past but have recently moved over to encapsulation.  After reading and reading and reading your various posts we decided to give try Releasit.

The carpet is demonstrably cleaner and we think more thoroughly cleaned however.....we ended up with two problems

First problem was the odd shading (see pics)

Second problem was the divets in the carpet left by bed casters and furniture legs - see other pics.

I am not sure if we are getting the carpet to wet or if it's something else but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

And thanks for the hundreds of posts I have read... an absolute treasure of information and experience on carpet cleaning

  Work Orders
Posted by: Rich Gallina - 01-31-2017, 12:53 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (9)

I clean mostly residential and was wondering where you get your work orders from? I get mine from Deluxe (Where most people get their checks from).

My other thought was to go simply by email but I noticed that most places have a monthly fee for this service and I really would like either software or another way to send via email or messenger. Any thoughts?

Carpet Cleaners, a question on urine & vomit.
Posted by: Lounge Lizards - 01-27-2017, 10:25 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

What PRODUCT & SYSTEM / TOOLS, have you found most successful for FRESH, LIGHT, urine & vomit removal??

IE; Just yesterday.

Via:

Extraction?

Bonneting?

System: Extraction & Bonneting?

This is for recent problems on light to moderate episodes where the sub floor has not been affected, and the pad/underlay only lightly affected.

Cool

Velcro pad driver or the the short red bristle pad driver

Which is better to have

Does one allow for use of a better variety of pads/bonnets over the other

Question Please Help! Client's question

Sorry for this but Im new with dry cleanning proces.

A big office here in Mexico keeps their carpets clean with Host system, they are asking me how many water is used by a square meter (About 10 sqf) with the encapsulatiion system. They want to be sure not to loose their seller or carpet manufacturer warranty.

Somebody knows about how much ready to use detergent is used per square or a determined area? aprox?

Or how can I support  the  switch (change) of maintenance from Host to Encap?

Thank you in advance for your help.

  Wicking on Needle Felt Carpet
Posted by: Bernd - 01-19-2017, 06:11 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (14)

I often have to clean Neddle Felt or Needle Punch carpets with lots of coffee or oily spots.  How do you prevent wicking in this situations?

Yesterday i cleaned 400 m² in some rooms and hallways in a sports hotel. The carpet was installed on wood floor! It was a old castle. Encaped it with my Orbot, Microfiber pads and Superzorbs but some spots wicked back.  I told the customer that it could happen .

How do you handle the spots to prevent wicking? Do you pre spray them? I noticed if i am using only a bit moisture, i only can make a little  difference -the spots are still visible...if i use more solution, the spots are disappearing- but wick back, although i extracted the moisture with lots of pads till the floor was dry and a little bit warm!
