  Need Prayers
Posted by: stefanbouknight - 01-17-2015, 10:15 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (6)

I ordered a new Cimex Machine. It looks great! But before it got here I was sick and went to the doctors.
I found out I have cancer and will be starting chemo and radiation in 10 days. Please keep the prayers coming.
PS - The best service I have every had was with the people at Excellent-Supply! Been in business for 10 years
and can't wait to do business with them again!

  ORBOT Sprayborg/TAZ
Posted by: TYMAR - 01-12-2015, 10:50 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

Can anyone shed some light on the whole HOS/Windsor/ORBOT/TAZ thing?

Compatibility, quality, pricing, interchanging parts, etc. Does HOS sell them anymore, or do they just manufacture for Windsor?

Reason being, I'm considering an ORBOT/TAZ or possibly a Lowboy/Vario setup.

I know someone who has a "wrecked" ORBOT Sprayborg (fell off a trailer when moving) It would be free and I'm wondering to keep it around for spare parts if I go with the used TAZ. I might have a line on a used TAZ. Are the parts on the Sprayborg interchangeable with the TAZ, etc.

Any and all information about all of these would be great…..people's opinions, etc. I'm doing some residential and would also like to get more into commercial as well.

Thanks guys!

We don't have any huge commercial buildings
Posted by: leofry@1966 - 01-05-2015, 10:17 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

my weak area is knocking on doors, and when i try to improve i just don;t know of any huge office buildings or they are the one time cleaning .. they want it cleaned every 5 years...
I need about 10 really good accounts a month bringing in about $7,000

just can't seem to get there

so let me add this, what is your process

do  you just ride around and see building and then walk in ?
do you look in the yellow pages
how do you decide that is who will will target and how do you meet the guy that makes the decision.

considering getting into commercial carpet cleaning
Posted by: JeffW - 01-04-2015, 03:58 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (6)

I have a question about what direction I should go as to getting into commercial carpet cleaning. I have been cleaning and refinishing tile and grout, natural stone and wood floors for almost 10 years now, and now I'm seriously considering adding commercial carpet cleaning to my business. I need something that can bring in steady income for once. I already own a truck-mount unit that I use to clean tile and stone and a few carpets for my older customers. (I hate cleaning residential carpets).
My question is in your opinion should I invest in a cimex or an OP machine to start. The cimex is cheaper but is it as versatile as an OP machine. Can it get under desks or maneuver as well. I'm going to try and stay away from restaurants and small cubicles in offices but with being new to commercial carpet I might have to take what I can get in the beginning.

Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Big Grin

Weird question to start the year
Posted by: Act One Cleaning - 01-01-2015, 01:54 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (10)

Some time ago I bought a used Self contained floor machine. It runs hot. Now I either spring for a new vac motor assembly and hose ($300-ish) or I could just take off the vacuum nozzle and use it as a jackleg brush encapper.
Without the nozzle it could be pushed forward and backwards easily.
Hmmmm. With a tee and sprayer hose to prespray or hit tight spots, it could work!
If you were short on funds but loved to tinker, would you do it?

  Quoting churches

Was referred to a church and need to quote them for carpet and upholstery. The carpet is the easy part. How do you guys price the upholstery on the pews?

  Traffic area
Posted by: harim1999 - 12-30-2014, 05:53 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

I recently finished cleaning 10 family restaurants. I used Punch 12oz/gal. as pre-spray and 4oz/gal for my Cimex.
I didn't go back to check the carpets but I guess Punch & Ds worked pretty good because they contacted me again to do it every 3 months.

The only issue that I had with Punch&Ds was when I cleaned a heavy traffic area for one of the restaurants. I am supposed to clean the traffic area only between the quarterly cleaning. What would be the maximum oz of Punch&Ds that I can pour into that area? I don't want to make any mistake (browning or anything...).

Yes I used bonnets (using 12" buffer) after running Cimex and will order more pads. Yes I will do  HWE sometime down the road when the weather gets better.

  Equipment

Just want to do residential, at the moment I have a Rotowash & a Rotary the results I am getting are fantastic I spend a lot of time vac & crb using my rotowash dry run, then spray &  agitate then I go over with the Rotary with a scrub pad then run over with a microfibre to quicken drying time & absorb a little more soil, I might even run over with my CRB just to lift the pile again Looks great.
My question I was  thinking of A Hos Orbot would it be that much more beneficial with the cost  of the Orbot  I am not after doing a quicker job I just want the best results I can get.I did have a Cimex but sold it as I do not want Commercial works,. I only want one job per day so time is is not that important as I am only part time .Hope this makes sense.
