Persian Rug Cleaning with urine stains
Posted by: Kron1 - 09-02-2017, 04:54 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (4)

I have a 10X12 Persian rug to use for training purposes. It was purchased from a customer who did not want it because her dog kept peeing on it.

In my area we constantly get request to clean Persian and Oriental rugs. I have never taken a chance on cleaning one especially with dog or cat urine.

Is there a way to clean a rug with urine stains at a customer's home are does this type of cleaning need to be done by rug bath?

  Punch for bonnet cleaning...
Posted by: Bernd - 08-23-2017, 04:02 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (6)

I have to clean two hotels. The hallways and the areas in front of the elevators. I have read that Punch is a good bonnet cleaner. Normally i would use DS2 but i am thinking of using Encap Punch with my Orbot and Micro Beast bonnets.

Would Punch be more effective then DS2 when bonnet cleaning?

  Commercial Carpet Cleaning

Do we required to use any special agents to clean office or any commercial area or is it ok if we clean it as the way we clean it like residential?

By far my largest job in 22 years of cleaning
Posted by: blubby07 - 08-16-2017, 10:49 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (27)

First time posting on this forum as well as buying equipment from excellent supply, I must say im very impressed with all the help and customer service ive received.
Im fairly new to the encap world as ive been a HWE guy my entire life, ive been so impressed with the results as well as how much easier the work is.
I cleaned a 20k sq ft job with 2 tms and it looked terrible! I came back with the encapsulation process and it looked great! they even signed a quarterly contract so im sold.
For whatever reason my business has had multiple large cgd requests but the most recent left me a bit weak in the knees!
A large pharmacudical company called me and I measured out 97k ft!
I just about walked away but I thought I will just bid it high and if they want me to do it then I reap the rewards.
Well they want me to do it and im a bit nervous, I recently purchased 2 cimex machines as well as 1 20 inch crb, I will also borrow another 20 inch crb.
I also have multiple 175s but not sure if I will need them?
The plan is to have 4 people on the equipment each with a helper with me supervising and making sure everyone has what they need.
The job consists of a combonation of large open hallways as well as multiple office spaces and cubicles.
I told them to give me a week to complete the job but am hopefull it can be done sooner, with lbor day weekend coming up im thinking of putting in very large hours Saturday thru Monday.
The building is fairly new and they only clean the carpet once annually so its medium soiled in my opinion, they are also a pet friendly work place so there are a few dog accidents here and there.
I ordered 4 cases of releasit and 2 cases of punch.
we will not be moving or picking up anything if they didnt pick it up then its staying put.
Any idea on how long I should plan on spending on this job?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Joshua

The last of the Mohican's is soon to die.
Posted by: Scottsdryfoam - 08-12-2017, 06:35 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (4)

Hi all, I used to be on Rich's former forums back over a decade ago.  Been cleaning carpets for over 20 years.  I've used the Chemstractor with Von Schrader's Dry Foam.  I'm talking the old metal machine, not that blue plastic crap that came out in 2007.  Got me voted best of North Kitsap this year and gave me a good run for 20 years.  But I just cannibalized my last parts to keep my last Chemstractor going and it's time for the final Chemstractor to go the way of the dinosaur at last.  I'm sure you old timers are amazed that anyone out there still was using that wonderful old beast of a bygone era.

I've been keeping an eye out in the hopes that a new breed of low moisture extraction would rise up, but nothing has.  These new CRB's all seem to use bonnets and the RX20 types of machines don't look too low moisture.  So my choices seem to be go with a rotary extractor that puts in lots of water or go with a Cimex bonnet cleaner.  I've looked and looked and can't seem to find anything remotely like the old Chemstractor that injected the encapsulant into the carpet, brushed it clean and then extracted it back out.

So if that truly is a bygone era, then can people get me up to speed on what my alternatives are today?  Is there truly no more low moisture extraction method?  Are the new chemicals so good now that bonnets can get heavily dirty carpets (like the grease built up in a thai restaurant or the soot ground into a high traffic fire department) clean?  Because bonnets were fail for most of my experience but I haven't kept on top of that corner of the industry.  I don't want to go to HWE either.  I intend to stay low moisture.

  DS2 and Hydrox new scent?
Posted by: Click - 08-11-2017, 07:57 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (4)

Can you please tell me what the new scent of ds2 and hydrox is like.  Is it enough to leave a pleasant smell for a few hours or just enough to cover up the chemical smell.  Are both ds2 and hydrox have the same smell now.

Thanks

  Tuway bonnets
Posted by: Click - 08-03-2017, 08:00 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

I currently use microbeast bonnets for all my residential encap jobs but am looking for something a bit more absorbent to pull more soil out the carpet when there is a heavy soil load.  Would the tuway bonnets be good for this and are they suitable for cut pile.  Any advice on these bonnets would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Bonnet Cleaning with microsplitters? Where does the dirt go?
Posted by: Click - 07-28-2017, 10:48 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

I have been bonnet cleaning for a while now and have been using encap products to do so but I see some carpet cleaners are using powdered microsplitters to bonnet clean carpets and I am somewhat confused as to where the dirt goes using what I thought was only used for a prespray in hwe, can anyone tell me.  I understand that with encap the dirt is suspended in the polymer but don't know how  microsplitters stop dirt becoming attached to the carpet.  Can anyone explain?  Cheers
