  Cimex improvement
Posted by: Gebb1 - 01-19-2013, 06:56 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (20)

Ok I've had my cimex for a couple of months now. I've been cleaning carpets with a truck-mount for 23 years now (prochem Everest 650hp right now- great machine!). Mostly I clean vacant rentals (70%) with the remaining residential and a few commercial. Probably using the cimex on 40% of my jobs now. I love the wheel kit- makes stairs easier to navigate, however it would be great it there was a kit to be able to remove the solution tank and carry it separately. This would shave probably 40 lbs of weight. What do you think Rick?

  Dealing with a crazy customer
Posted by: prodrying - 01-19-2013, 09:21 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (10)

We had a lady bring in a small rug to be cleaned at our rug cleaning plant. As we do with all rugs we photographed the rug right when it came in. All the photos are also date and time stamped. When she comes to pick up the rug she tries to tell me that we unraveled the sides of the rug in two places. I proceeded to pull out the photos and showed her that the rug was like that when she brought it in. The photos are date and time stamped and she is actually in one of the photos. She proceeded to pay, but the entire time she is telling me I am lying and that I doctored the photos, etc. She even leaves and then comes back to complain some more. All this for an inexpensive $100 rug.

I can only imagine the trouble I would have had without the photos.

So what's your best crazy customer story?

But wait as the norm I forgot the damm cameraAngry. Any way used Hydrox and a FP pad and came out looking great. It was a small play house lobby.

JUST DESSERT - NOT CARPET CLEANING
Posted by: Cairnswun - 01-16-2013, 07:39 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (4)

Hope you guys are handling the extreme cold weather okay over there.

My supplies (food), have been getting run down due to the trouble 'n strife still being away.

I like to run out all the old tucker that gets shoved to the back of the pantry/fridge.

Done pretty well this time.

But I got no dessert for after dinner tonight.

CRIKEY !!!!!! Angry

So, I've been watching the fruit on my Papaya tree for the last three weeks, and today's the day to claim some.

Ya gotta get onto these before the flying foxes come around at night and chew them.

Ahh, it's tough living in the tropics, but someone has to. Tongue

  Broken Water Feed Elbow
Posted by: Blue Ridge Floor Care - 01-13-2013, 11:53 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (4)

I need to replace a broken water feed elbow. Of course, the space is too tight for either my hand or my wife's hand to fit under the shield. What are the steps involved in replacing this thing? Thanks!

  How Do You Roll?
Posted by: TheCleaningDude - 01-12-2013, 06:12 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (16)

I'm using a 2006 Dodge Caravan CV commercial mini van.

Love it! Great mileage and has been reliable so far.

However, it's getting cramped. Been thinking about maybe attaching a few things like the Grandi Groomer and the such to the ceiling but don't know if it's strong enough. Also might need to add a generator for empties that have no electricity. Also, there is no room for a ramp and I want to get a Cimex....

Anyway, what are you driving? How much can you stuff in your vehicle?

  Commercial Tile and Grout....
Posted by: TheCleaningDude - 01-12-2013, 06:02 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

Are any of you doing commercial tile and grout work with your VLM equipment or do you find yourself reaching for the HWE gear?

I'm figuring restaurant t&g would require lots and lots of heat?

I ask because I was approached by a restaurant we normally do the carpet for. Now they want the tile and grout done.

I am ill prepared for the task at the moment....

  Using Hydrox
Posted by: SLOTOOLS - 01-11-2013, 04:17 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

I Cimexed a Large sancturary at a church that had mint CGD carpet, lots of stains from Drinks, coffee, tea and oil, grease and rubber marks. Rick has stated that Hydrox does not play nice with other chems so no prespray. Stains were removed with ease using Hydrox, and it got me thinking why would some cleaners use Punch prespray and releaseit combo instead of just using the Hydrox product exclusevely for cleaning?

My results seemed stellar and Custy was very pleased. all the info I can glean for the forum is appreciated- so if you have an opinion, please share your thoughts.

Lindhaus RX 450 I finally love it.
Posted by: sdills62 - 01-08-2013, 03:05 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

I cleaned a small office area at a large kitchen cabinet company last week. It was only 2,300 ft but nasty. (It was the same office I cleaned last year and won the Picture of the month.) I prevacuumed the area using the Lindhaus. Nothing special here except I pulled two full bags out of the carpet. I presprayed the areas as I went with Punch using my Penquin sprayer. I used the original DS with my Cimex running the gray pads. There is a lot of black powder coming in from the production floor. I believe it is rubber from the fork lifts and carbide and steel from a saw sharpening station. Anyway I cleaned the carpet like normal and it improved but was not that good looking. This time the customer wanted me to do the post vacuuming. I came in a couple days later with my modified Lindhaus. The original brush is very soft, too soft in my opinion. I ordered a stiffer brush from Excellent supply. With the high spin rate and stiffer brush the post vacuuming really knocked off the encapsulated dirt. I took my time and went over everything front to back, side to side and both ways diagal. The "Host" vacuuming method. The Lindhaus with the stiff brush dug out another two full bags of encapsulated dirt that looked like copy machine toner. That's four bags total out of 2,300 ft. The carpets looked great after the post vacuuming. If you own a Lindhaus and it lets you down. I suggest you get one of the stiff brushes. It made a believer out of me and I went from liking this vacuum to loving it. I think I have the customer talked into quarterly cleaning at this point. Once a year is not enough for this office. Hopefully I can get into their large corporate office and showrooms down the road.
