Some newbie questions about a Cimex
Posted by: Lounge Lizards - 06-18-2015, 07:26 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (8)

I don't want any of you old pro's spoiling this.

One of the greatest ways to learn is from mistakes, and making sure that you don't do it again.

There will be some newbies that have seen this, but don't know "WHY"

I'd like those that DON'T KNOW to offer up some of their own ideas as to:

What has caused this?

How do I fix it?

What is the "carpet"?

Video Upholstery Encap Cleaning Video
Posted by: encapman - 06-17-2015, 07:03 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - No Replies

Here's a video that we just shot.

This works great on moderately soiled upholstery. Spray, scrub, wipe. Easy!
For heavily soiled upholstery, a final rinse with an extractor would be recommended.

  Stain Magic?
Posted by: KennyWright - 06-16-2015, 03:43 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (2)

I have a very light Berber carpet with a lot of blue paint spilled (gallon can turned over). Most of the paint was removed using solvent and rinsing but there is a lot of blue tint. I talked to the Pro's Choice guy and he recommended Stain Magic to remove the tint. Anybody had luck with this?

  Berber Carpet in office
Posted by: Bernd - 06-16-2015, 05:45 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (11)

A new challenge for me: today i watched a possible new clients carpet in his office. It looks like berber. It Is a bright carpet with dark loops. No real floor and some coffee spots.

I never cleaned this kind of carpet and have read it could be a real challenge...

Can i clean and work with the CRB or with the 175? What kind of pads do you recommend?

Although i have to clean the customers house. Looks like a red freeze. Not realy dirty. Thought of using the CRB and the soft brushes with DS2.

Greasy dog spots. HydrOx or Punch/DS2?
Posted by: Bernd - 06-13-2015, 03:04 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (6)

On monday i have a job on a good maintained residential carpet.

It is a light, almost white carpet with only a few dark spots on the stairs (kind of traffic lane) and some spots from the owners dog where he was laying on the floor.

I thought of using HydrOx but feel a little bit insecure because of the greasy dog spots...

Or Should i use Punch to pre-spray the spots and then encap with DS2 instead of working with HydrOx?

Water damage spots! How to handle them?
Posted by: Bernd - 06-10-2015, 11:26 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (19)

A new customer has had a water damage on his commercial carpet. There were some spots of the water. A other company cleaned the carpet but the spots come back. They look little brown circles.

He wants me to look for the spots and if there is a possibility to get of the brown circles.

Has anyone a idea how to handle these spots of the water damage? I have read HydrOx could be a possibility...

  HydrOx is the bomb!
Posted by: Act One Cleaning - 06-08-2015, 07:05 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

One of these days I'll learn to take pictures, dangit. Patterned berber, dark pee stains. Treated the areas with enzymes and blotting, then the carpet with HydrOx and the Duplex dp420. It doesn't always work this way but today the urine stains just plain vanished! It would have made an amazing video because they just changed in about four seconds. The rest was just scrub and recover... it never fails to amaze how much embedded hair there is in pet home carpeting. Honestly could not say that HWE would have added a single thing to this job, and HWE alone would not have pulled all that hair. Spot, blot and HydrOx. A killer combo and today, very effective!j

Question LinkedIn - is it kosher to...
Posted by: Derek - 06-08-2015, 03:42 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

a fella who used to be the VP for a client we used to have, recently accepted my request to connect on LinkedIn. he is now with another company and is the facilities manager there. he and i only spoke briefly once or twice in the past, he being a VP we had no reason to talk much more than in passing. i am not sure what's considered good etiquette on LinkedIn since i don't use it much. do y'all think it is kosher for me to "InMail" him and see if he is interested in a free demo & quote for any of the facilities he now manages?

thanks! --- Derek.  Big Grin

  Business Name?
Posted by: Matthew - 06-06-2015, 06:50 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (12)

Getting ready to register the business name, figured I'd see what you folks have to say about it. The initial creation will be an LLC. I used to do ceiling cleaning and over-head dust removal as well as window cleaning, so I'll probably still offer that in my carpet/floor cleaning business. For that reason I was thinking...

Above and Below Cleaning LLC

or

Above & Below Cleaning LLC

I may or may not throw a "Solutions" after "Cleaning", that might make it a bit too long though. It seems to cover all of the possibilities fairly well, and it exists as a direct literal idea of the cleaning I'm capable of (stuff that's above you, and stuff that's below you).

I like the unintentional ABC potential as well for jingles and slogans. Just thought I'd throw it past you folks to see what you thought. Thanks for any opinions.
