First time with Cimex, what went wrong?
Posted by: Randh - 06-29-2015, 01:35 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (11)

I cleaned some commercial carpet early this morning, and it just did not turn out. The carpet itself wasn't overly dirty, they had new carpet put in about a year ago. All the coffee/soda stains are gone, but the carpet is super blotchy...some patches of dark areas, some patches of light colored areas....

I mixed DS2 at 4oz gallon, put into Cimex equipped with new fiber plus pads and ran the machine with one wet pass with the trigger open moving at a moderately fast pace, followed by a dry pass moving at a slow pace, occasionally feathering the trigger. I overlapped each pass by maybe 20-30% and pre-vacuumed and post-vacummed 12 hours apart. The post-vacumming improved the blotchiness a little bit, but theres still dark places and light places all over the carpet. Any ideas what I did wrong?

Thinking of buying a Hos Orbot...
Posted by: Bernd - 06-28-2015, 03:06 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

The last months i am working more and more with the Releasit products and my results are getting better and better. Till now i am working with the CRB and my 175 . I have read a lot about the Hos Orbot. I like the wheels down and the spray system and of course the big wheels for the stairs in many of my residential customer houses...and I am getting more and more commercial customers.

The 175 is a beast! When i have to pull it out of the truck or the stairs my back starts hurting in the evening...cause of the little wheels i have to carry the machine through the whole house down or upstairs...

Now i am thinking of a Hos Orbot machine...ok...the price is heavy...almost 4500 EUR/ 4995 $ . I have read many threads about the Hos op.

Do you think it would be a good investment for the future when i am doing more commercial accounts? What is about the residential carpets? Does it although work in a good way? I would like to get a machine for residential and commercial. If i would do only commercial i would think about the Cimex...but i have a lot of residential clients.

So what do you think? Could the Hos op the solution for both clients? How productive is the machine? And the wheels down should be a good choice for my back hurts, or?!

Which pad driver to use for Microfiber pads?
Posted by: Bernd - 06-23-2015, 03:53 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

I got some new Microfiber pads and they don not hold on my pad driver of the 175 Huh !!!

What kind of pad driver do you recommend so that the MF´s hold on it? Should it be a velcro driver or a kind of this:

Rick, or anyone, have you had any experience with a traffic zone restoration product like Dinge Away? Do you know of compatability issues with Releasit? I'd love to offer a better service if it adds value.

Does anyone have some experience with cleaning sisal carpets? A customer called me to clean his office with sisal. Very light soiled. Some coffe spots he said. I know it can be very diffecult and should not be used to much moisture.

fiberplus pads - tan vs grey
Posted by: TigerJ - 06-19-2015, 11:15 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (2)

I have a Cimex and currently use the tan fiberplus pads.  curious what others experiences are with the pads...I understand the grey ones are more agressive, but the Cimex does such a good job with the tan pads on commercial carpet, when might I seriously consider using the grey pads ?

I have a casino carpet that is pretty bad because they only want it cleaned once every 4 months, but the Ciimex and the tan pads seemed to work pretty well.  will I see even better results with the grey pads ?

thanks !

  How to handle unknown spots?
Posted by: Bernd - 06-18-2015, 04:17 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (5)

I have had a residential job today on a very old, medium soiled (20 years old) carpet. Worked with DS2 and while i was cleaning, many new spots appeared... I did a thoroughly good pre vac. I asked the owner if she knows something about the spots...what kind of spots they are.
Of course she did not know...

How do you handle unknown spots? I treated them with Encap spot but they only came out a little bit...

What do you recommend how to handle unknown spots? I often have this problem when i am cleaning residential carpets. Should i try to extract them with a spot extractor?

The traffic lanes on the stairs came out great and DS2 did a good job...but i really need help how to handle unknown spots...
