Following on from some comments about a job I did yesterday at Mirage Resort in Port Douglas...................

I WAS going to post some pics here, but realised there's a few too many, and really, this is not the place for them.

So, if anyone wants to view the, check them out on the carpet cleaners Facebook page where I shall put them.

  Needle felt carpet.
Posted by: Bernd - 05-06-2015, 02:32 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - No Replies

Today i have had a estimate with a new customer. Stair and 300 square feed cleaning. The carpet is "Needle felt carpet" .

Has anyone experience with this kind of carpet ? I testet it with my CRB with Punch and DS2 and it worked. On the stairs i worked with my drill brush.

Should i padcapp the floor or absorb the soil on the stairs with a towel?

  Business name

When naming your business, and your focus is on commercial, what are your thoughts on having the word "commercial" in the business name? is it necessary and do you think it's a deterrent?

Lightbulb Cimex Pad Driver broke in half ... found a temporary solution!
Posted by: Derek - 05-05-2015, 11:45 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

so 1 of my Cimex pad drivers split in half right down the middle...the foam separated clean off of the black plastic. this is one of my 2004 pad drivers, from my very 1st Cimex. a clean break so i can try to marine goop it back together. anyways, i am working at a Client's facility when this happens, ugh! hmmmm let me think ... [Image: lightbulb.gif]

ran out to the van and grabbed the stiff yellow Cimex brushes. throw them on and plop them down onto the carpet with the pads "attached" - not ideal but it easily finished the job for me! i haven't used those brushes in awhile, glad i keep them on the van though! Big Grin

  HydrOx on Upholstery.
Posted by: Bernd - 05-03-2015, 07:05 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (5)

Today i tried HydrOx with the drill brush on my upholstery! It was incredible! The upholstery came out wonderful to its white colour.

I just sprayed and worked with the drill brush and as a final step i used a microfiber towel for absorbing the soil.

HydrOx worked great! It is another oportunity using this great chemistry- and earning money!

What is about spots on upholstery? Does the Encap Spot work on it?

Clearwater Experience 2015 was a blast
Posted by: encapman - 04-30-2015, 09:59 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

The Experience show on Clearwater Beach was terrific! Very good turn out. Combining it with MikeFest brought more faces and fun to the mix. I had an enjoyable class today (long day 8:30-4:30). We covered commercial carpet cleaning A-Z; everything from cleaning to marketing to management. Larry Cooper also contributed to the class as a guest speaker and shared a ton of really solid content from his vast experience in the commercial market. Overall it was a great show! Met a lot of old friends and made a few new ones too. All of you who stopped by our booth and said hello - thanks it was great to see you! Shows like these are opportunities to share ideas and pick up some new ones. For those of you on the fence about attending - this is OUR industry, and we all can benefit from these events. What you'll gain is much greater than any investment made to be there IMHO. Hope to see you at the next one. Smile

  Queen Bonnet with green stripes.
Posted by: Bernd - 04-28-2015, 04:02 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - No Replies

Here in Germany we don't have a big variety of bonnets. The most commen are the microfiber Queen Bonnets with the green polyester stripes.

What do you think about them and where can they be used? Residential or commercial?

I want to test them next week on velours carpet. Hope you know this kind of carpet. Does it work on it or are the bonnets to aggressive?

  Dog urine.
Posted by: Bernd - 04-28-2015, 07:14 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (8)

I have had an estimate this morning with a lot of dog urine "problems". I just made a free demo for the customer.

It was a very light carpet so i worked with hydrox. Sprayed the spots with the 1:3 dilution and encaped with the 10 oz solution.

I only worked with my crb. After finishing the "demo area " the urine spots got lighter but were still there.

I blotted them with the encap spotter and put some paper towels on it. With my feed i made some pressure on the towels. The towels soaked and got yellow .

My questions:

How long should be the dwelltime with the 1:3 dillution on the spots?

How long should be the dwelltime with the encap shampoo?

Should i first handle the spots are should i Do it after encapping?

Do the experts have a special idea handling the urine spots?

I now have a 175 rpm and some tuway microfiber bonnets. Should i finishing my work with it?

I don't have a extractor.
