Customer called me for a job this Friday which includes a antique silk rug. I am going to use a CRB machine with the soft brushes and the natradri compound from releasit. I would like to know If this should keep me out of trouble, any tips for silk rugs and what I should charge?

How do you guys who do a lot of Cimexing explain this type of cleaning to a commercial account who only used TM cleaning for many years?
What do you do or say at a demo?

Thanks

  Ds2 or Punch

I use vlm on high rise condos that are inaccessible with the truckmount. These are typical residential type carpets, generally a step better than what you might see in apartments and they don't allow pets in most of these so pet issues are rare. My method is pre vac, pre spray, one pass with vario and microglide pads, additional passes with superzorbs as needed and then groom with the crb.

I've been using encap-hydrox on light colored berbers and either punch or ds2 on cut pile.

My question is choosing between ds2 and punch? I think I've read before that ds2 was better for straight encap and punch better for bonnet cleaning but I have no idea why that would be? Obviously ds2 at the 4 Oz per gallon would be preferable to me than punch at 8 Oz per but I'm not opposed to using punch of the results will be better.

Man that was drawn out for such a simple question, sorry. Wink

  I'm a Cimex newb

I bought mine about two months ago from Rick and played with it for a bit to get up to speed with it. The hardest thing to get used to for me was not soaking the carpet in the turns and learning what to do to prevent those drips when you stop the machine. Once I got that figured out ( sussed out for the inbreds down under) I was confident enough to put it into play. Today I used it on my mega-church monthly cleaning account. This is the account that I really bought it for.

All I can say is I wish I'd bought this thing years ago.

I have a restaurant to clean on Monday. While I am going expecting to HWE it, I am going to try the Cimex on it. Encap Punch?

  Orbot Grout Brush

If someone on here has the Orbot grout brush could you see if it would hold pads and bonnets on carpet, if you have tried it does it work on carpeting?

David

Two nights ago I had to service one of my monthly accounts in a large shopping mall.

When I got there, I got a bit of a shock.

There was a Transit van parked near the mall entrance with hoses running inside where two people of dark Asian appearance were cleaning carpet.

In a store that I had previously cleaned, one time.

The waste hose from the t/m was discharging into the car park waste water drain which empties into the Coral Sea.

No signs on their van, dressed only in shorts, singlets and thongs (on their feet). Dodgy

Security was notified, but they were not very concerned about it, (dinner time).

Delia went into this store yesterday afternoon and slipped off one shoe.

Carpet was still wet, slippery and smelled rank. Sad

Got a phone call from centre management late yesterday wanting to know what I saw etc; as someone had taken a fall on the terrazzo when exiting this store.

When I arrived late afternoon most of the suds had gone down the drain, should have taken the pic as soon as I stopped my van.

When I left a bit over an hour (& a $165.00) later, this was the scene.

No wonder carpet cleaners get such a bad name. Angry

Cool

  VARIO VS ORBOT ORBITECH OP'S

It looks like Rick as done a nice job with the Vario, I was just wondering for those who have actual experience running the Vario with the weight kit vs an Orbot with a weight kit, how they compare to each as to:
1. Cleaning ability
2. Speed of cleaning
3. Ease of use

  Cimex versus challenger

Cool

Hello everyone! I'm new in the carpet cleaning world. I love it so far! I have another daytime job and fit in my carpet cleaning whenever I can.

I purchased a Challenger machine and some terrycloth pads plus some encap solutions from a competitor.

After cleaning my own house and a couple of homes of friends, I decided to donate my services to clean the filthy carpet in our church... donating my labor, and the church paying for the supplies. It is going okay but has been very labor intensive. I have already put in 40 plus hours and am only about 1/2 way done. I think it is a commercial glue down....there doesn't seem to be much padding at all, and it is a tight - weaved dark brown, low pile carpet.

I switched my tactics and purchased some fiber plus scrubbers plus some microbeast pads. I am also using Punch and DS2 in the concentrations outlined in a recent post (filthy commercial carpet.)

We'll see how this week goes!

My question: I would like to know from the carpet cleaners out there who have used both the Cimex and thd Challenger...

Ányway....for those of you have used both machines, which one do you prefer and why?

Learning so much from this forum. Thanks!
