  Brush or pad
Posted by: richgallina - 10-14-2015, 10:16 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

For some reason I remember I remember a post about this but I can't find it so I'm going to ask anyway. I have a church I'm cleaning and it's stained mostly foot traffic but I'd like to know the difference between both the pads and brush and what you figure I should use. It's 2000 + feet. Haven't seen it.

  sprayers and cancer stick lighters...

i'm interested in a sprayer that can be charged via the C.S.L.

does E.S. sell one of these models? or will some type of inverter make them charge this way??

Happy customer, but I'm not satisfied
Posted by: CFCS7891 - 10-12-2015, 07:54 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

So for the good news, a recent customer wants me to come back and clean monthly, so overall it's a win.

Downside is that I'm not happy with the results. First, the areas around where the floormats normally sit still looked quite dirty... significant contrast between the two.

Second, spent a significant amount of time on spots throughout and while some faded significantly, almost none of them went away. All appeared to be standard drink spills and the like with the exception of one definite permanent marker stain.

Admittedly I wasn't using releasit chemicals, but my process went like this:

- 'Pre-vac" with Brush Encap
- Prespray visible spots
-spray entire carpet and 15 minute dwell
-Spray fiber plus pad
-Lowboy....
-lowboy with microbeast

It was CGD of a light tan color, 3500 sqft, I used 10 gallons of RTU solution mixed at the high ratio for the product (vacaway hot knife extreme), and it took me 4.5 hours.

Any idea where I might have went wrong? Not enough chemical? Wrong chemical? Wrong technique?

  Would you buy a franchise?
Posted by: kevinecoffey - 10-10-2015, 08:40 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (6)

I am trying to decide if it is worth buying a franchise (Heavens Best), or if I should just start a carpet cleaning business on my own.  Several years ago I had an Orbot and did ok on my own (part time)...nothing spectacular.  I had to get out of the business for various reasons, but I want to start again full time.  It seems I can buy higher quality equipment on my own for much cheaper, but  I am wondering if the franchise would get me to a living wage faster.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Confused

  Spotting machine
Posted by: Bernd - 10-10-2015, 09:13 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

I bought a little spotting machine for carpets and upholstery.

How do you handle it with heavy spots? Do you flush with only water or do you use a special dillution in the tank.

Which is the best way to go especially with heavy urine contamination?

Although i thought of cleaning office chairs. They are often black on the seats. What do you recommend?

  cimex or orbot
Posted by: mark63 - 10-07-2015, 05:32 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (11)

I know cimex is the king of commercial with the fastest production times, but if I wanted to paddcap after encapping and only wanted (or willing) to bring 1 machine, does the orbot clean as well as the cimex if you are willing to give up a little production time? in other words, I can encap with the cimex or encap and then padcap with the Orbot.

Question Cimex Problem
Posted by: Aussie Geoff - 10-06-2015, 03:37 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (5)

Hi Rick

Any suggestions as to what is causing this problem with my cimex.

Starts ok with the head off the carpet but bogs down.

I've changed the drive belt but it's still happening.

Hope the video works!

  Handling bonnets on the truck?
Posted by: mark63 - 10-04-2015, 10:51 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (2)

Just started bonnet cleaning and have a few questions about handling the bonnets, microglide & beasts mostly! To hopefully shorten my learning curve, I work out of a small pickup truck so storage space is limited, How many bonnets do u usually carry with you and how do you store and handle them on the truck? (plastic containers? mesh bags?) and how do you store the used ones on the truck, Just put them on the bottom of whatever you store the new ones in? Thanks!
