Hi folks its been a few months since I first posted here asking for advice. So I thought I would give an update. Thanks to this site and quite a few phone calls to a very, very patient and informative bloke in Cairns AKA Shorty. I Purchased a Cimex. I also came across a second hand Rotowash for $250, I called Shorty to see if it was worth picking up (they sell for over A$3k new) he was somewhat astounded that I had not bought it on the spot . So I went back and got it
My main carpet work is cleaning carpet tiles for an event hire company, the Cimex makes easy work of it once the vacuuming is done. My Sebo has a hard job gouging out the seeds and dry grass that often gets walked in. So, taking inspiration from other CRB machines, I had the welders at the company knock me up a catcher for the Rotowash, and, in conjunction with the Sebo, it works great. There are a few adjustments needed, which are being worked on as I type.
Unfortunately these tiles really do get trashed, and after about 6 encaps the Mex really was not cutting it. Previously once the Sebo was not cleaning them I had needed to pressure clean the tiles (the mex has taken them far further than in the past) However there is no portable carpet machine I could find that has the flow and pressure to do the job.
So against most advice (I was told by many people that it would not work) I have assembled my own machine. Using a reasonable 60L wet/dry vac, a sump pump, 4 nozzle carpet wand, and my existing pressure cleaner, I now have a machine that can run at anything from 100 psi and 4 litres a minute to 1500 psi and 15 litres a minute (the pressure is limited by the valve on the wand, and the water flow by the ability of the vacuum to keep up), with continuous flow in and out.
Finding 2.5 inches of sand in the bottom of the machine, and a pile of dirt where the waste water pumped to, explains why I need that mixture of flow and pressure!!
The patchwork look to the tiles is due to the pressure cleaning and various use of the tiles.
I have also done several domestic jobs with the Cimex and I am doing a quote tomorrow for window and carpet cleaning, plus vinyl and timber buffing at a club.

After Cimex;
those really dirty ones are in the foreground, you can still see a bit of shading, but hey what a difference. These were then encap'd four more times and are included in the first photo of the ones I wet extracted.
I have been having trouble with the images. I wanted to post this as well:

And the Rotowash. I have only one catcher at the moment, when we get that right we will make another. I am having the top extend down into the machine so that it separates the brush from the central drum. This makes it a really good dry pile lifter and is great at digging out grass and seeds.

Lastly a photo for Shorty who has been bitching about having to go to "freezing cold Sydney" 70F btw.
Yes Shorty that is snow, and I had just finished a pressure cleaning job. For those who are wondering, packing that 6x4 trailer is geometrical challenge as it has a mex, pressure cleaner and whirlaway, rotowash, 60 lt vacuum, all hoses, wands, chemicals, pads, and various power tools I Need a bigger Trailer
As part of the original thread, however the Bot kept telling me that I had exceeded the maximum limit of 6 images????

...shower fed?
I have an office with a staircase, moderately soiled.
I plan on encapping the offices and HWE the stairway.
I want to be able to just mix one pre-spray.
So my question is can pre-spray Punch and mix DS basic or DS2 for solution tank on 175?
Thanks.

Newbie to residential Encap/LM
I normally operate HWE, but want to add LM for residential where my HWE equipment is not practical.
I bought a 13 inch, 175 floor machine with solution tank and nylon carpet brush. It has an 11 inch pad driver.
So really I need advice on what pads work best in residential. Cotton, cotton blend, Microfiber? 15 inch bonnet be OK?
I plan my process to be:
Pre-vac
Pre-spray
Agitate with carpet brush when necessary.
Bonnet
Post-vac
What pre-spray works best?
Cotton bonnets for soil removal or Microfiber?
White or Burgundy pad good enough for agitation or use carpet brush?
I know that a 13 inch machine is light, but that is part of the point. I can carry it up two flights of stairs if I have to.
Will an extra pass with bonnet compensate for the lightweight?
Thanks, really appreciate any help!

We normally offer 6 Month Interest Free Financing. Well we now have some exciting news! Our financing company is rolling out a special 18 Month Interest Free Finance Offer for the next 2 weeks.
For 2 weeks from AUGUST 27 - SEPTEMBER 9 you can take advantage of a Special Offer for 18 MONTHS OF INTEREST FREE Financing.
During the next 2 weeks you can purchase new equipment while enjoying interest free financing for 18 months. We have great deals on Cimex machines, Vario scrubbers, BrushEncap CRB machines, and Truckport extractors. Of course you can use this special financing offer for ANYTHING that you'd like at Excellent Supply. Click to view machines.
Here are the terms of this Finance Offer: - 18 months interest free
- Minimum monthly payments required
- One-time 5% transaction charge on the total purchase*
* The finance company passes along a one-time 5% transaction charge to process each loan. For example a $2,000 loan would have a one-time $100 transaction charge, and a $3,000 loan would have a $150 transaction charge. (We'd all love it if the finance company didn't pass along any processing charges, but this is how they present their finance offer.)
I don't know about you, but I always think it's nice to be able to use someone else's "interest-free" money to fund an equipment acquisition! We're excited to offer what we feel represents a great deal, and we look forward to serving you!
Give us a call at our office to learn more 1-800-330-1888.

I got my brush pro about 2 months ago and have had amazing results with it. I used it in my own house this weekend and used punch to clean. That night I felt my carpet was crunchy. Before the crb I always used my 175 with 2 way pads and never had that feeling after it dried. My question is do people use a different cleaner or do another process along with it?

I am always trying to reinvent myself as a cleaning company
Most of the time we do HWE in the homes and encap on commercial.
I had a real nasty job yesterday and i decided to pull out the 175 and put a carpet brush on it and aggregated the carpet and then put bonnet after cleaning to wipe off and help dry.
well here lies my question, i have the cimex already in the truck can i buy just brushes for it and can i buy little bonnets for it... AND should i not use brushes should i use a pad instead.
Also will the cimex and pads/brush hurt or cause tip bloom ????
