I feel humbled and am in awe.........

Today I received very nice surprise from Woolsafe Australia, which in my honest opinion, I feel I am not worthy of.

I love this industry, love what I do, and do get great pleasure out of helping someone if I can.

I would really like to thank Patrick Burgess, Colin Nation and Steve Bakker for this Honour.

  Dried on encap solution
Posted by: rlord - 11-03-2013, 07:05 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (5)

I posted a while ago about doing some UPH and the seat cushions were vinyl and the arms were wood. The UPH was real tight so when we scrubbed with the drill driver some of the solution got on the vinyl and wood. My helper wiped it off but missed some Well when we went back a couple of weeks later it had dried on and wouldn't come off. we tried damp cloth and magic eraser. Nothing.
So yesterday I went in to do some work and was determined to get it off.
1. Squirted water on it let it dwell, scrubbed and wiped disappeared but when it dried the spots came right back.
2, Tried acetone and then paint thinner same process same result.
3. Remembered a fellow cleaner telling my about WD40 getting up all kinds of stuff, sprayed some on rubbed it in lightly with my hand and a few suds appeared wiped, dried gone!
Phew getting a little worried. Thought this might help if you ever run into this problem.
Wish I had taken pics.

  New tank for the newbies
Posted by: Shorty - 11-02-2013, 06:02 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

I'm a dummy, so I'm gonna ask this question.

I recently installed a new tank on my vintage Big Yella.

I think this is the "new design" tank.

Problem is this, take note everyone:

Before I start each and every job, I must squeeze the solution trigger and hold it open while I pull the solution hose through the release mechanism.

The piece of hose that has been under the weight of the mechanism has been flattened out and solution will not run readily through.

To fix this bit, I squeeze the sides where the hose has been flattened to allow solution to pass freely through.

This must be done on each job, moving the hose in the opposite direction each time.

How would YOU fix this permanently??

Think about the sliding adjustment at the rear of the solution tank. Wink

I believe that some may be a bit wary of posting such a problem, but I've still got broad shoulders. Big GrinTongue

  Cimex water flow
Posted by: OXIGREENGUY - 11-02-2013, 02:15 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

Rick you guys really took care of me on this one! Thank you so much.
I had it out on my first job with it and wow is it going through the water.
Is there a way to slow the flow down by turning the check valve closed a little or jetting the water tube down? I'm only discharging during the first pass and then pulling back over with a dry pass. I'm walking much faster than with the lowboy or the CRB. The per sq ft numbers are going to really play out with this.
But for the record: I will put this little baby up against A N Y T H I N G out there!
It kicks butt.

Thanks again, John

We are doing an entryway to a Walmart tonight. I cleaned it once Cimex only. One side turned out ok the other not as good. This store sees about 7k people a day. And to say it's dirty is an understatement. I do have HWE equipment and I would like to use both tonight. But was wondering which order is best? Cimex then HWE or HWE then Cimex?

Thanks

  Help with pricing
Posted by: TYMAR - 10-28-2013, 10:03 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (8)

Hello all

Looking to get some opinions on a bid. I was contacted by a movie theater (an AMC 18). They are looking for a quote to clean the seats in the theaters. They have anywhere from 3-5 theaters or so done each month, depending on need. All they want to know is how much I would charge per seat.

Any ideas on what to charge? Also, what are some ideas as far as products, equipment, process, etc.? The fabric on the seats is red.

Thanks in advance!

  perpetual cleaning pricing suggestions
Posted by: FloorCareMD - 10-28-2013, 03:27 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (4)

I have a 8525 sq.ft. account that we service 2x year. They are constantly spilling drinks and the janitor sometimes drags leaking trash bags around creating spills/spots.

They want a quote for monthly "Spot-cleaning".

I would like to quote a flat monthly price. Any suggestions?

Thanks

  Grey vs Tan pads?
Posted by: BGCD - 10-28-2013, 11:42 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (6)

I have read that the grey pads are more aggressive and don't last as long as the tan pads. But I haven't used the grey pads enough to have an opinion on how well they work. For those that have is their a really noticeable difference in how different the cleaning is?

Thanks
