  transporting the Cimex
Posted by: KennyWright - 08-02-2013, 02:13 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

I move my 19" Cimex inside a trailer with my other CC equipment. I live in the mountains and travel a lot of bumpy, sometimes unpaved roads. I do keep the handles strapped so that the Cimex stays upright and doesn't turn over or roll around.

Can anyone send pictures or a description of what I should build for the Cimex head to rest on, instead of just the wooden trailer floor? Thanks.

Kenny

When using Releasit Encap products, I'm assuming it's fair to advertise that you include fabric/carpet protection for free (considering it's already in the encap detergent)? Correct?

  Can't Wait for my Cimex

I have never posted but have been doing plenty of research via all of your posting in this forum. Thanks a lot for it - you all may not know how helpful that you all are. I have only been cleaning restaurants with a porty and 360i for about six months. I was either going to upgrade to a TM or with a new method of cleaning. I went where I think commercial is going after reading most of your posts (it also helps it is much cheaper!). Again, I can't wait and I will certainly post some pics - My restaurants get TRASHED!   dog odor
Posted by: Ed E - 07-30-2013, 09:40 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (12)

Did an off white cut pile nylon carpet today. Lady had dogs and a cat, and the animals have wallowed up one side and down the other on the carpet. Some urine and feces. It had an animal odor when I started, but the lady did not seem to think it was a problem. I used Hydrox as a pre-spray and cleaner. Scrubbed with beasts and zorbs as a follow on. It looked pretty good when I was finished, although not all of the stains lifted. She called me this evening and said it smelled like "dog." She indicated that it was dry.

Not sure why it smells worse to her now, but I have to make a return to see what I can do. Any thoughts?

  skunky zorbs
Posted by: Ed E - 07-30-2013, 09:32 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (14)

I have resigned myself to zorbs becoming grey over time. However, I wash them every night and put them in a laundry tub damp for the next day. They never sit long or get moldy, but when I use them the next day, they stink. Anybody got any thoughts on keeping them smelling decent?

I'll Take All The Advice I Can Get

Got a call to look at a casino, went to look at it and the gentleman that was tasked with speaking with me really did not know anything about the facility, and said his boss just told him to get some estimates, and he gave me a piece of paper with this information.

Carpet Cleaning - Extraction

Casino Carpet 42,901 square feet*
*Move all tables and chairs

Steakhouse 2,656 square feet*
*Move all tables and chairs

Hotel corridors on all floors to include elevator lobbies 41,105 square feet

Hotel - 201 Total Rooms *
82 King Rooms - 82 x 300 square feet each (24,600 square feet)
100 Double Rooms - 100 x 300 square feet each (30,000 square feet)
19 Suites - 19 x 618 square feet each (11,742 square feet)
* ALL Furniture must be moved, cleaned under and relocated (Beds, Entertainment Centers, etc.)

Buffet 3,809 square feet*
*Move all tables and chairs

Total Square Footage 153,004

Must start at 5:00 am and stop at 9:00 am, Monday thru Thursday

Carpet is over 5 years old, never been cleaned by an outside contractor. There are some loose seams, wrinkles, gum and red spots, which I think are a combination of wine and acid dye spots.

When I asked what the expectations were he stated his boss wanted the carpet to look "brighter and fresher looking"

Within our discussion I informed the gentleman that I have no interest in providing a hot water extraction estimate, but he re-stated that is what is supervisor wants, but to go ahead and put in a bid. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

  Considering Cimex for purchase
Posted by: harim1999 - 07-29-2013, 09:16 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (6)

Have done several commercials and another one (church) coming days later.
I have been using 175 (12 " & 19") with piber plus pads/punch & hydrox, and now it's time to buy a rotary machine that is mainly designed for encap.

But, I can't still figure out if there is a job quality difference (result) between 175 and Cimex.
Just wanted to know before making an investment.

Thanks!

  Steps

I know this has probably been discussed a million times already but,
What are the steps for cleaning steps?
I vac, spray, then use a cyclo with green brushes and do nothing else.
Am I missing a step? Should I be going over them with a bonnet in the end?

Thanks!

  Cycling Methods In Commercial Settings....
Posted by: TheCleaningDude - 07-27-2013, 06:59 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (15)

How often - if ever - do you rotate cleaning methods with commercial clients?

I was working with a group of cleaners yesterday - predominantly HWE (very cool guys) - and they told me that they HWE at least once a year and encap the remainder (quarterly accounts).

Are you doing something similar? Would 'padcapping' be considered an alternate method to encapping in that regard?

Further, how do you decide when HWE would be a preferred method over encapping cgd?

I ask because a couple of months ago I cleaned a terrible cgd. I used the Orbot initially for maybe one office and decided to sub a TM. Didn't make much of a difference.
