How do you handle this? |

Cleaned for a lady today. Did whole house. Repeat customer. Always been satisfied. Well, she went to the dentist before we finished, payed us, thanked us and said see ya later.
We finished. Raked carpet. Everything looked good.
7 hours later she calls and questions us about a scratched piece of furniture. She wants to know if we did it. My wife tells her no. (That particular piece was a very small chest that I lifted by hand and set it on sliders and moved it well out of the way of any cleaning to be done.) My wife explained that if we had damaged it we would certainly have left a note saying so. The lady wasn't in a rage, but my wife felt like she wasn't convinced of our innocence.
This is one of those situations where we have absolutely no doubt. The way we handled the piece, it would have been impossible to scratch it.
I believe that the woman probably had not looked at the piece for a while, along with the fact that she has young grandchildren that frequent her house.
This has really bothered my wife and I told her that all we can do is tell the truth and let the chips fall. Really, after over 10 years of business and hundreds of customers, it's a miracle that these types of accusations aren't more common. This is our first that we know of.
We have done minor damage on 4 jobs over all of these years and have always told the customer and payed for the damage. My worst was a lamp that I accidentally knocked over and broke. Customer was gone and I was all alone, but I contacted him and told him. That lamp cost me a whopping $700.00, but I could sleep at night and learned to be more careful.
Just curious how you guys would handle this lady that I had today.

I got in the habit of adding a small scoop of this to my water before mixing chems To soften the water on a job where I don't know if the water is soft or not.
I wonder if it would affect the encap chemistry?
I haven't tried it yet with encap juice.

So now the Shark infomercial guy is getting into encap! I do own a Shark bagless "no loss of suction" vac for home use and I love it, but I just saw his new Sonic Duo commercial this weekend. It's a nice looking little unit for a home owner and I think it's kind of cool to see the encap theory get some national attention and I like the guy. He reminds me of Millhouse from the Simpsons.

Has anybody ever did cement grinding with a cimex.A couple of times at one of my accounts the door would barely open because the sidewalk shifted up, they did get someone to grind the sidewalk down so the door will open.
Would the 19'' cimex work with the correct griding discs and some heavy weight or would it be a waste of time?
Could a person charge good for this?

silly maybe question, but do you try to stay going forward, or do you do a push pull method, I have to admit after using my 175 for a year or so that its taking me a little time to get used to the new cimex... i have to say that i am HARD TO Believe i know but i am must faster with the 175, i never fought the 175 i danced with it... so i am trying to get used to the cimex... i love it... but i guess i need more time using it

Is the steam version available? If anyone has one can they tell me the difference between cleaning steam vs regular? Also I am primarily wanting to use this for residential cleaning and pre scrubbing. Is the 420 recommended for that?

I was reflecting on random thoughts reading the forums before work this morning (saturday) and have concluded that I must be beating the law of averages, I cannot remember the last call back I have had- and at the volume of work I do it is truly a blessing.
The first thing I do before starting a job, I walk with the client and have them point out all of their pet peeve areas. I do work hard at making them happy and then have them sign off on the work upon completion. I do have a iphone library from each job, and this has been a life saver when I go back to the particular home, I have a reference.
I am using combination of OP and HWE- and will not commit to just one method, I need both especially for stairs, heavy traffic areas, some furniture and T and G.
So life is good, have a busy week coming up and a day off tomorrow.
