Traffic lane question for my Hydrox heads out there
Posted by: CleanItGreen - 03-29-2014, 05:43 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (13)

Just curious what my fellow hydrox users that do residential are using to clean high traffic lanes.

I know that Punch/DS2 is a good combination but that Hydrox is a standalone. Seems that Hydrox at normal mix barely touches high traffic areas, and I have to come behind with the encap spotter to get it to at least lighten up some and I figure its because the tea tree oil in the spotter does better for that type of soiling. what's everyone else doing?

Charging for deodorizer with vlm process
Posted by: mark63 - 03-27-2014, 09:59 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

I like to offer and charge for stain protection and deodorizer. I was wondering how you apply a general deodorizer with a vlm cleaning process that wont mess with the drying process?
Also, since im on the vlm pro board, is there a encap solution for residential cpt that does not leave the carpet crunchy? I know oxi fresh advertises your cpt wont be stiff after the cleaning. Thanks!

Photo Can you tell which Cimex is used?

A customer had a couple of well worn Cimex machines. He traded in one of them, and he had Rodney restore the second one.

Here's what Rodney does when he restores a machine. He tears it down completely - down to the very last bolt. He then cleans, paints, restores, and replaces any item on the machine as the need arises.

On the machine below there is a brand new motor, new tank, new tank bracket, new lifting rod, new Big Boy Wheel Kit, new set of pad drivers, new brush pulley bearing, new belt, new switch knob, new Kodiak cord, new bumper shield, new cable hook, new swivel clamp rod, new switch box cover, new pivot bracket. In other words - it's a nicely refurbished machine!

The image below shows what Rodney is capable of.

You can ship us your old Cimex or Orbot, and we can perform any level of repair - from basic stuff up to a full restore like this one.

By the way, this refurbished Cimex is for sale for $2250 (including shipping).

Shown next to a brand new Cimex to show how it compares. Smile

  which encamp machine
Posted by: bmas - 03-26-2014, 09:35 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (6)

I have owned and operated my own cc company for 27 years. I would like to do more commercial encamp work and wanted some opinions on a good but not over the top machine to get started with. I don't want to break the bank but would like to build slowly to see if this is the right direction to go. Just turned 50 and trying to save my body for as long as possible.
This is a very helpful forum and the info has been very helpful.

Dealing with "Ice Melt" (Calcium Chloride)
Posted by: encapman - 03-24-2014, 07:41 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (1)

Here's an efficient and simple way to deal with the problem of calcium chloride residue in carpets. Ice salt causes headaches for cleaners up where the white stuff piles up during this time of year. And even though we're down in the sunshine state, our Releasit Encap-HydrOx can easily tackle the residue problems associated with calcium chloride.

Calcium chloride is commonly used in place of salt for melting ice and snow. Calcium chloride is hygroscopic (readily takes up and retains moisture). If you attempt to clean it with an alkaline detergent it will turn to calcium hydroxide (lime). The white powder residue from calcium chloride will track through the building; and since it attracts moisture, the residue can rapidly cause intense soiling. It is imperative to remove calcium chloride as quickly as possible.

Here's a simple remedy for dealing with ice melt residue in carpet:
1. If the carpet is dry, vacuum slowly and thoroughly.
2. If the carpet is damp, blot and/or bonnet clean with microfiber bonnets.
3. Apply Encap-HydrOx following the "pre-spray" dilution on the label.
4. Brush ample Encap-HydrOx into the carpet, and allow 10 minutes of dwell time.
5. Extract and/or bonnet clean (with microfiber bonnets) using Encap-HydrOx.

  Encap Punch

Never used before. Have a very nasty job coming up and you could grow crops in the traffic lanes. After I vacuum thoroughly, how do I spray and what mixture? Dwell time? And I will use DS1 in Cimex. Thanks for help.

Whats the benefit/purpose of a glide?
Posted by: msc1917 - 03-18-2014, 03:57 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (2)

Watching youtube videos of bonnet cleaners I see some use the velcro glides. What is the purpose of these, and should I get one/use one? I have the vario machine and I am just starting out with VLM.

Video Video showing how to use an upholstery mitt
Posted by: encapman - 03-18-2014, 06:05 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (7)

I saw this over on Mikey's Board. It's a video of Mike Pailiotet using an upholstery mitt with Releasit Encap-Clean DS2. He followed up after using the mitt by extracting the upholstery. The video shows how to use the mitts and how handy they can be for upholstery. I thought it was a valuable video for anyone who cleans upholstery. Good info from Mike!

  My machines are NASTY!
Posted by: Joe DeSouza - 03-17-2014, 02:18 PM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (10)

Hey guys, I'm in the mood to clean up my cimex and Orbot/Sprayborg...after a while they accumulate stuff from encapping (especially the orbot as it drips a little)...my assumption is its dried up polymer from encap juice...I've tried windex, and a 3ph acid cleaner figuring it will remove alkaline build-up, but no luck...

Any advice?
