  Why you need a CRB....
Posted by: TheCleaningDude - 02-28-2014, 02:15 AM - Forum: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Replies (10)

I just made a reply to a thread in the Photo Contest section regarding my experience using the BrushEncap machine.

This might be the second time I've posted this clip in the General section, if so I apologize. But, I feel obligated to let you all know how important a CRB is to a low moisture program for residential. Actually, it's just as beneficial to HWE, but with VLM it's a 1-2 punch like no other.

The BrushEncap adds so much to your process that the need for a 'top tier' OP machine is reduced, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love my Orbots, total workhorses. However, if I were doing it all over again it would be a Vario, BrushEncap and a good vacuum.

  Job estimating and invoicing

Just curious if anyone else has tried Joist (www.joistapp.com, also free in the apple App Store)? It is a free app that allows you to create and send really professional looking estimates and invoices from your tablet or smartphone. We have been using been using it for about 1 year now....and while it isn't a complete end to end customer management solution - it's free, easy to set up, and really adds a professional touch to your service. We use it in combination with google calendar for scheduling.

I haven't tried Service Monster, which I know a lot of guys seem to like - but Joist has been a great zero cost alternative for us so far.

  VARIO video from MikeFest

Here's some video footage of the VARIO from Mikefest. Sorry about the terrible camera handling toward the end (I had no idea how to work with Mike's GoPro camera). In fact the overall video quality is pretty horrible LOL

  Advice please

A year ago I purchased a cimex from ES. Ihave grown to enjoy encap carpet cleaning and would like to incorporate VLM for my resi. clients. I recently put my Butler TM up for sale and begun the process of researching OP machines. My understanding the Trinity is the most powerful and will not tip bloom cut pile though very pricey. I love yhe price point of the Vario and the look but will I get the same performance as aTrinity or am I over thinking the whole process. Thank you in advance for your help. Kurt

To get a 6 Bedroom home done in 1 hour.

Step 1, Bring in your vacuum and pre sprayer first, vacuum all carpet assigned to you then when done pre spray all stains that need to be done. Then leave pre sprayer in house and take vacuum back with you (so you don't build up equipment) when you get your cleaning machine.

Step 2, Spray room or use tank, outline the room first then work the room from back of room to door. Repeat this step if you are Scrubbing the carpet before extracting. Do the furthest room from the front door of the house.

Step 3, Groom all carpet, make sure you take before and after pictures for either your customers or your self and for proof.

Make sure when the customer is showing the carpet to you that you speak up and show the customer when they are in the room with you the defaults in the carpet before you start so when you are done they don't say that you did that stain when in fact it was there before you started. Take pictures to cover your *****.

Up sale because you are already in the house if they have Area Rugs, Furniture and anything you can see that you can do for the customer. I don't know how many times after I was done with the clean, and with them not saying anything about other things to clean I ask about a Area Rug or there Furniture and they say yes I want my couch clean, do you do that and I say yes and got extra money for the couch in the same house that I just went for a carpet clean only.

No question is a stupid question ask me anything you need to help you out in any way.

Nancy and I are out in Santa Cruz at Mikefest 10. Yesterday was awesome. There were excellent presentations all day. Packed with valuable business building information!

After my presentation on encapsulation and commercial carpet cleaning there was a HWE/Encap shoot out. Was a blast. The carpet was a rat nasty bar carpet that looked like it had never been cleaned before. It cleaned up pretty well.

We ran our new Vario orbital machine on a section of the carpet. https://www.excellent-supply.com/VARIO-O...p_563.html

A few of the guys had a chance to run the Vario. Here's a shot of Lee Stockwell running the Vario.

Today, now that the carpet has fully dried and any potential wicking has occurred - the final results of the cleaning challenge between HWE and Encap will be judged.

Looking forward to another fun day today Smile

Here's a nice little email we received yesterday:

Delia cleaned a modular microfiber suite whilst I cleaned three rooms of carpet.

We used VLM all the way, except on the many urine stains in the carpet which we used Peeradicator and extracted, followed by encapping the entire carpet.

Thank you for the job you did at our house at ** Walsh Street.

I will put your payment through today.

Also I just wanted to say how professional and neat you guys are.

We had some other service people at our house a few weeks back to fix an appliance and they looked and smelt like that hadn't showered in a week, it was truly horrendous and they didn't have things like extension leads with them etc and left a mess.

Refreshing to see a mobile service business with vehicles and staff who look like you want the job to be.

Over the years we have received many such comments but it always makes me feel sad when one reads about how some "professional trades people" present themselves.
