I have previously read in one of your post that Hydrox should not be mixed with any other ReleaseIt product. Could you please explain the reasoning and what negative effects it could have.
This could be a long story so I apologize in advance.
About two years ago, I got asked to speak at a ladies organization in my area. So, of course I did. Since this, I have done several carpet cleaning jobs from ladies that were there that day. Then this week I got a call from the lady that actually put the whole thing together and was the one that contacted me to be the speaker that day. So it was one of those jobs that you don't want anything to go wrong. When we arrived she added tile and grout cleaning to our work that we would be performing. Also, the carpet we were cleaning was a white berber.
My technician cleaned the all the carpet and tile working room by room and everything was going well til the last room. Then he hit an area of the carpet where the dog had thrown up a few days before. She had cleaned up the spot with the spot remover that I had given her. (Releasit DS mixed at 10 oz. a gallon with my own label on the pint sized bottle) It worked well because the homeowner only knew a general area that the spot was originally. So we presprayed the entire room, and began to HWE the room. When we got to the area in question it turned green. Immediately my technician tried to correct the problem thinking it was a ph imbalance but it did not work. I called Rick and his crew and talked to them about this. None of us had ever seen or heard of this problem occurring. So after I ended up going over to the house and looked at it, I immediately knew it was a color loss situation. So I took out the color repair kit and added a really light shade of pink to the carpet and it quickly turned back to the correct color. I think occurred because of a combination of dog medicine, dog food, stomach acid, spot remover, and prespray all combining and triggered by the hot water to create a problem.
The homeowner was really disappointed when they saw the green spots, but once I fixed it they thought I was a rock star. I really appreciate all the help and support Rick and his crew always provide even when it is not a problem that their product caused.
Will be doing a Function room what is the best combination 3 brushes ,3 pads or does anyone interchange ie 2 brush 1 pad . 2 pad 1 brush. Only ever used in a small area to try out.
Never used the release spotter got a call about lily pods dropped onto carpet the lady rubbed it in, turned carpet orange size of a saucer plate, I was only passing as I was on my way out, sprayed on and had to leave gave it a good soaking did not get a call back as I was going today to my amazement it was all gone.
Ok. Here it goes. I am getting an orbot this week. My line of thinking was to use a crb, vacuum, then clean with the sprayborg. The question is, before I pull the trigger and buy the CRB Is it necessary? I did buy a top of the line vacuum cleaner. A Sebo 370 comfort. It has 80 lbs of water lift. Any and all comments will be appreciated. Thanks.
About 2 to 3 weeks away fom starting my carpet and tile cleaning! Thanks to everyone for the information that they took the time and energy to give you me. Very much greatly appreciated! CRB and chemicals from excellent supply here I come!
I'm using the standard brushes. Seams like on more than half the jobs I do there will be half pulled fibers scattered around the floor. I have to pull these out buy hand. It's a back and time killer. Should I go to the next softer brush? What's the answer guys?
BTW: this doesn't happen when using the LowBoy on the same carpet.
Thanks
I have a decent amount of residential work, that keeps me quite busy. I know that there will be slow times, so I really want to start to get some commercial work. I have been giving prices, based on my hwe price of about .25 per square foot. Each time I end up too high...example:
Both examples pretty trashed...
2600 Sq ft of Chinese Buffet-- $600 with them moving everything. Told they got a hwe price of $400...
3000 Sq ft Chicken Wing place--$700 with me moving everything. Told they currently pay $350 for hwe. Said my price was way way too high.
So, what can I do to compete? I tried encapping a little with the Oreck Orbiter and my host crb machine but the results are not that great. I know I am asking it do a lot so I accept it may be my fault. I have not used it on large areas, just small offices, spots, and stairs. Sometimes great, sometimes does not touch it. What am I doing wrong?
So, my question is... What machine would get me in the game for commercial?
What would be your price for encap on my two examples?
How confident would you be that it would look great?
Is there one universal machine that would work on all commercial carpet?
First of all let me say hello to all and thank you for allowing me to post hear.
I am very new to the Encap game, I have chatted with Encapman a few times and just became even more interested, so I hope you guys will accept me as I am trying to educate myself.
I have been HWE guy for the past several years but now I am very interested in Encap.
So it would be greatly appreciated if you guys could help educate me on Encap.
I would like to start with what is the better machine to go with 175 or OP machine?
I keep hearing that you can get the same results with the 175, that is hard for me to believe, I will leave it up to you PROS to tell me right from wrong, but if I can get the same results for under $700 bucks then WOW!
I know price plays a big roll, I'm not worried about that I want the best equipment for this new add on for my company, (I like the Oreck Low Boy) I plan on switching rolls with HWE and Encaping, I only want to use HWE when it is absolutely nessasary.
I will try to find post about most of my questions but if I can not find answers I hope you guys will bare with me if it sounds like I am repeating a bunch of questions that may have been asked hear already.
I would like to Thank every one ahead of time for any education that you guys provide to me!
very good article ... example i am all for giving a free bottle of spotter - cleaning the 2 x 3 mat or rug on my way out the door for free. I am all for dong small things as long as its controlled. I am not above bringing donuts or cup cakes to large commercial accounts.
This morning i had one of my janitorial company that use me to clean a auto factory email me about and office very small office that i clean ALONG with a lot of carpet and i charge anywhere from $6 to $10. and of course i told her i could do it no problem but i also told her i have a min charge of $75 but in this case i would make it $50 and if she wanted me to hit a few other offices that would be fine... but she did not understand that... I clean them for them every month and its a very fair deal.. fair for them fair for me... but if they want me to come another time during the month i am charging for it... don;t get me wrong if she wanted to work out a new deal where i charge more every month and then say any spot cleaning during the month is free (really not free charging for it up front)
